T.O.P on Squid Game All Thanks to Lee Jung Jae? Dispatch Says

Lee Jung Jae and T.O.P are known for being friends, they’ve built a friendship based on common hobbies. They even went to the Hong Kong Art Fair together and had wine at Lim Se-ryung’s restaurant.

In 2014, the secret dating spot of Actor Lee Jung-Jae and Lim Se-ryung was T.O.P’s house in Hannam-dong. The two of them had a couple’s gathering in the luxurious villa of the tower.

As his senior, Lee Jung Jae took the initiative to find a role for his junior. In the past, Lee Jung Jae once tried to even to recruit the T.O.P. However, it didn’t work out at that time. But this time, he put him in a game where he would take the lead. Former BIGBANG member is set to appear in Netflix‘s ‘Squid Game 2‘. It is said that Lee Jung Jae had a strong influence on this casting. In fact, Lee Jung Jae. has already negotiated a guarantee of over 1 million dollars per episode with Netflix.

Netflix had tremendous success with ‘Squid Game,’ and cannot ignore Lee Jung-jae’s demands. They have to secure over 13 million dollars as Lee Jung-jae’s share (appearance fee) alone, for a total of 20 billion won.

Lee Jung Jae pursuing an actor’s rights is ethical. However, influencing the casting is a different story. T.O.P suspended his activities in 2016 due to issues of marijuana smoking. He hinted several times that he would retire from the entertainment industry and last year, he terminated his contract with YG Entertainment, and in May, he officially left BIGBANG.

Dispatch asked T.O.P’s side if he did audition for the role. They said, “We can’t provide an answer other than Netflix’s official statement.” We have no way of knowing through what fierce competition he secured the character.

Dispatch disses Netflix’s decision for this despite holding strict standards for controversial celebrities.
